Small Rituals, Big Shifts: Why I Stopped Chasing the Perfect Wellness Routine
Small Rituals, Big Shifts: Why I Stopped Chasing the Perfect Wellness Routine
There was a time when I genuinely believed that feeling my best meant doing more.
If I could wake up earlier, meditate every morning, drink the green juice take the damn supplements, journal, train harder, eat perfectly, follow the perfect morning routine...
Then surely I'd finally become the healthiest, happiest version of myself? But instead of feeling well, I felt exhausted.
For years I chased every new wellness trend, convinced that the next routine would finally make me feel enough. Looking back, I wasn't building a healthier life - I was building a longer to-do list (we don't need any more of those do we!)
Eventually, wellness became another thing to perfect, and perfection is exhausting which led me to burnout. I'll share more about that journey over the coming weeks because I think it's a conversation many of us need to have...
So today, I see wellness very differently. I no longer believe it's about having the perfect routine. I believe it's about creating small rituals that support your life instead of taking it over. Whether that's a walk without your phone, or a glass of water before your coffee...
Those little moments might seem insignificant, but repeated over weeks, months and years, they quietly shape the way we feel.
I've learnt that consistency will always beat perfection and wellness routine shouldn't leave you feeling guilty and it shouldn't become another standard you can't live up to.
Instead, it should create more energy, confidence, calm and joy.
This week, instead of trying to change everything, choose one small ritual, a habit that feels achievable, one thing that genuinely helps you feel a little more like yourself.
Because wellness isn't built in one perfect day. It's built through hundreds of ordinary moments that quietly become part of who you are.
If you're reading this and you've ever felt overwhelmed by trying to do all the "right" things, I hope this reminds you that you don't have to earn wellness through perfection.
Sometimes the smallest rituals create the biggest shifts.
Move well. Feel well. Live Radiantly.
